Fifth Dimension and Thorpe Molloy partnership short listed for Arts & Business Scottish Award 24/07/2006
A partnership between Fifth Dimension and Thorpe Molloy Recruitment, has been short listed in the 20th Anniversary Arts & Business Scottish Awards. The two companies submitted an entry in the Creative Based Training category.
Karen Molloy, director of Thorpe Molloy Recruitment comments, "Being short listed for the Creative Based Training award is recognition of the innovative approach that we have taken in respect of staff training. Working with Fifth Dimension we were able to implement training which fostered team spirit whilst retaining the competitive element that is integral to a sales organisation."
Ivor Smith of Fifth Dimension says, "We are keen to promote the use of a creative approach in business; the partnership with Thorpe Molloy did just that with excellent results. Our innovative approach to training injects creativity into what could otherwise be a staid training session. We ensure that a serious message is delivered in a fun way resulting in an enjoyable training session where the key messages are not only delivered but also retained.
"Companies in Aberdeen City and Shire are both dynamic and progressive; this is reflected in the way that they are receptive to introducing new ideas and ways of working. The fact that we are on the shortlist for a national award is recognition of the creative approach that is increasingly being adopted by companies in Aberdeen City and Shire."
Karen adds "The training that was carried out resulted in increased motivation and productivity amongst staff. We are convinced that the training has been of direct benefit to the business bottom line."
Barclay Price, Director of Arts & Business Scotland, says, "We are delighted Fifth Dimension and Thorpe Molloy Recruitment have been short listed in our 20th Anniversary Awards. We added the Creative Based Training category this year in recognition of the innovative work being undertaken in this area. Increasingly, businesses across the country are realising the benefits of investing in their staff in this way and we hope this will encourage more Aberdeen-based companies to discover the business rewards of engaging with the arts."
Fifth Dimension and Thorpe Molloy will find out whether they have won the Creative Based Training category at an awards ceremony which is being held at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre on Wednesday 11 October 2006.
